GMap doesn't talk to Search

When you select Google cache from Google search results, if that page has a mashup with GMap, it will warn you that the mashup won't work because that mashup authentication key, issued by GMap to the site, work only under that domain. Since Google cache is under Google domain, this won't work.

Google is testing a new Ad system?

Today I am checking out my Gmail. Suddenly I got a feeling why today's gmail is so clean. I did a good look and found out on the right side, there is no Google Ads. But then I scrolled down for a long way, I found Google Ads is hidding at the bottom left of the page. It is just all the spam sites. Is Google Ad trying to learn some practice from spam sites?

Google Double Branding

It seems Google is pushing hard to have a double branding on the FireFox platform.

Blame Google Account

This story tells how a developer spent some time figuring out how to sign up code.google.com, being lost between "Google Account" and "Gmail Account". Below is a Goolge produce laundry list and its authentication method.

Google Checkout: Google Account
Google Code: GMail => Google Account(it asks for Google Account but acctually only GMail works)
Google co-op: Google Account
Google Blogger: blogger account
Google Calendar: Google Account
Google Doc and Spreadsheet: Google Account
Gmail: Google Account (it says "Sign in GMail with Google Account" but acctually if you use Google Account to login, it tells your Google Account can't be used in GMail. )
Google Groups: Google Account

I guess Google is in the process of moving all login to Google Account, but still wants preventing GMail spam.

I don't have tags for my blog

Blogger doesn't have tagging features. After it is bought by Google, maybe it is too slow to respond to the market.

This is just unbelievable!

Google Spreadsheet limits each sheet can at most contain 99 rows.
It just looks like a toy now.

Terrible!

I have been very enjoying Google To-Do List until recently, terrible! terrible!
I found it lost my data. Ya, it is not a google product. It's a third party product. But I blame Google anyway since it is on My Google desktop.

Google Finance? a joke

On Oct 10, 2006, I am monitoring a Chinese Nasdaq company stock(HRAY) called Hurray on Google Finance. Here is a link listed within "company news", which is a nice article but nothing related to the company Hurray.
Why Google Finance caught this news?
Because the title of the article is "Hurray for fall ".

Google bugs

I am a Google Reader user. One day, I found a bug of Google Reader on IE. If I label an item as "unread", the item next will be labled as well. I could not believe the Google dev team has missed this. If I had missed such a bug to the release in our team, I would not lose all the bonus. I filed a bug on Google Reader Dev team blog. But nothing happens. No one replies. Nothing fixed of course.

Google Challenge MS Office? far away!

I recently start using Google Spreadsheet and first, I was very surprised it can give me similar user experience as the MS Office, like ctrl+C and ctrl+p; But after I use it more, I found Google Spreadsheet is far more surfficient to challenge MS Office.
1) The reason I use Google Spreadsheet is certianly for sharing. However, after I invite my friend to edit, they kept complaining to me on MSN that Google Spreadsheet shows them "It seems you don't have access right to this document". Then after some time, they can see the sheet. After many time, I finally figure out that the reason is because when my friend accessed the sheet, I am still working on it. We two can't edit the sheet at the same time. However, the error message is so confusing. This should be something Google at lease can do. Just let the other user view only while someone is editing the sheet.

2) Sometime Google Spreadsheet gave me errors like "It seems that you have edited this sheet during offline" and gave me two choices, "either discard the offline edit or view only". Again, I don't understand what the second option means.

Beside Google Spreadsheet, I have been using Google personalized home page for a while. I start feeling I am still using My Yahoo. No revolution, Just Buzz!
